The 9 Principles

These are the 9 principles we have identified as being key to helping shape our decision making on a day to day basis. In the spirit of our philosophy we review and improve these on an ongoing basis.

1. Put People First

This principle is about attracting and retaining the best talent we can find: people with great capabilities and the right attitude. We respect our people and trust them to get the job done, support them in their work so that they can be effective and motivate them in constructive ways. We endeavour to make work sustainable (not burning people out) and foster long-term relationships. Finally, we always behave ethically towards our people and we expect the same in return (because people have consciences!).

2. "Develop, Grow and Let Go of Your People" - Leverage Your People

No we don't mean fire our people, we mean don't hang on to them too tightly. Everybody has their dream - we want to create an environment in which they feel that they can achieve it without having to leave us. This means that they might need to change what they do and what they are responsible for.

3. Process-based Goals over Outcome-based Goals

It is not that outcomes based goals are not important, it's that over the long term we place greater importance on process based goals. If you focus on the process and be the best that you can be, you'll ultimately get the best results.

4. Keep The End In Mind

This principle is about focusing on the right goals or objectives, having a long-term vision that guides plans and decisions, leadership, having a client focus, adding value to the businesses that we serve and having a clear purpose for everything that we do.

5. See the world through your client's eyes

This principle is all about understanding our clients and:

• Understanding the business environments in which we work
• Looking at the bigger picture and having an awareness of wider considerations than just technology
• Realising the context of what you're doing and why you're doing it
• Understanding what the drivers are behind things
• Taking a holistic view of things
• Understanding the application and impact of technology on all the aspects of your environment and your client's business

Remember - technology is just one piece of the pie.

6. Collaborate

We know the importance of teams and teamwork, communication, active listening (especially to our clients) and the wisdom of the crowds. We believe vehemently in collaboration and we know that this in turn will allow us to solve any problem at hand.

7. Be Lean - Minimise Waste

This principle is about being lean, doing the simplest thing that could possibly work / striving for elegance and simplicity. Be pragmatic, optimise the whole and be well organised.

8. Be Entrepreneurial

Tap into your entrepreneurial spirit. Understand your environment and look for opportunities. Be innovative and above all be excited.

9. Continuously Adapt and Improve
