The Business Incubation program serves to realise the vision of developing new businesses and also ensure that Industrie IT continues to foster, maintain and reward an entrepreneurial spirit within the organisation which is a crucial factor for sustained success.

The Business Incubator program is a key strategic initiative within Industrie IT. It is essentially a research and development program enabling anyone in the organisation to submit an innovation proposal in the form of a 100 day business plan.

Understanding the prospect of how long business plans can take from conception to approval can be quite daunting. Even the most brilliant idea can be difficult to convey effectively. So in order to address this, a streamlined process has been introduced to make it easier to:

• Describe an idea clearly
• Outline both tangible and intangible benefits
• Produce financials covering both projected revenues and costs
• Identify important risk considerations

In addition to this, support is provided by mentors and sponsors for the proposals to help fill in the gaps should personnel submitting proposals not be expert in specialised technical and financial areas.

Once approved, the innovation proposal is funded, supported and reassessed in 100 days as a new product or business to be formally pursued as a further program of work.
