Our client was undertaking a high profile project which allowed direct customers to apply for financial products online while bypassing a long and complicated sign-up process. Our team augmented the client's and performed key roles including the Development Manager and Senior Development consultants.
This project was challenging as it involved management and coordination across multiple development teams and business units as well as integration with multiple existing system. The work undertaken by Industrie IT people included software development, analysis of business requirements, release and system documentation, project planning and team / people management. Key Industrie IT people remained on the project from inception through to implementation and warranty. The project continues to be a major success for our client.
Enhanced Wealth Management Platform
One of Industrie IT's key clients engaged in a project to enhance their financial wealth management platform. This involved the development of a green fields project with a new technology stack. Our people joined a large development team and took up roles including Development Team Leader and Senior Development consultants. The work undertaken by Industrie IT people included software design, analysis of business requirements, project planning and team / people management. This large project posed some interesting challenges than needed to be negotiated, such as:
- Long project time line (> 18 months)
- Working in a large team with diverse range of skills and backgrounds
- Mentoring and guidance in introduction of new technologies
The project was a resounding success for our client and this project was used as the launching pad for other projects and enhancements. Industrie IT personnel were presented with awards that embodied key values of their client, including, Leadership and Collaboration.
Software Process Improvement
At Industrie IT we have an innate understanding and a wealth of experience with quality and process improvement. This was demonstrated at one of our financial clients where we established a 100% code review process including management reporting based on the Atlassian product suite (JIRA, FishEye and Crucible) for one of their key projects. Once the project was implemented, Industrie IT was asked to present and promote these processes to the wider organisation.

There is simply no cookie cutter approach that can be used to develop software across all types of applications, working environments and corporate cultures. We take the time to understand our client's environment and needs and propose sustainable processes that will work. Our team of consultants have worked on a variety of applications, projects and methodologies from Agile through to Waterfall and understand both the strength and weaknesses as well as the appropriateness of different methodologies. One of our mantra's at IIT is to apply Just Enough Methodology (JEM) for our clients to ensure high quality software is produced efficiently.
In addition to implementing this quality assurance process IIT has been working with this client to establish Agile processes and techniques in a traditionally Waterfall environment. IIT understands the key elements of Waterfall that are essential to maintain for this client and have been applying Agile techniques where they make sense.
Real-time Portfolio Management System
Our client wished to develop a financial portfolio management and reporting system that was to bring 7 different product systems together to provide a real-time consolidated view of customer's holdings. Industrie IT was responsible for leading both the analysis and development efforts for this project and was recognised by the client as being pivotal for the project's success.
Industrie IT consultants worked closely with our client's architecture and project management teams to coordinate the development activities across a wide variety of technologies including of an in memory data grid. The in memory data grid has since become a core component of the client's enterprise architecture landscape and has been used by many subsequent projects.
One of the key challenges in delivering this project was dealing with the difficult data quality and data migration issues that were encountered. Industrie IT helped spearhead these issues by organising an intensive Scrum style working group within the larger project that focused on data quality and migration. The success of this initiative was widely recognised by our client and they have subsequently adopted many of the processes and techniques used by this working group.
Industrie IT has also stayed on with the client post-project implementation to support and assist in transitioning this project into a product stream with regular releases and road-map.
Conceptual Enterprise Architecture
We engaged with one of our clients to help capture an enterprise wide view of their technology landscape.
To address specific objectives regarding the visibility of the technology landscape, Industrie IT embarked on an innovative approach of combining traditional enterprise architecture methodologies with techniques from user-centered design, data visualisation and 3D modelling.
The result was a data driven visual model of the enterprise that provided insight into a wide range of aspects of the client's technology landscape. Best of all, it was a visualisation that was easy to understand for a broad range of stakeholders beyond our client's IT team.
